What exactly does Boko Haram want? How come the government knows who they are and they haven't been arrested? The leader of the Islamist group, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has
claimed responsibility for the two recent deadly attacks - the Bama attack on May 7 where 55 people, mostly soldiers and police, were killed, and the Baga attack on April 16 which left over 200 people dead. The military has been
accused of causing scores of deaths in the Baga violence by deliberately
setting fires that razed thousands of homes after the initial attack, an accusation the military has denied.
A video was released by Boko Haram yesterday and in the video which shows women and children being held hostage by the
sect and Shekau, who was declared a global terrorist by
the United States, seated on a rug, said; “We are the ones that carried out the Bama attack, we also carried out the attack in Baga,” “It was you, the security
agents that went into town the following day and burnt homes and killed
people at will,” Shekau said.

About seven minutes into the 12-minute video
message, the screen splits, showing Shekau on the left with a group of
unidentified women and children on the right. He claimed they are holding them hostage in
retaliation for the wives and children of Boko Haram members detained by
the military.
“As long as we do not see our women and children we will never
release these women and children,” Shekau said.
Why hasn't this guy been arrested? Our government should borrow a leaf from America where two terrorists were apprehended just days after they carried out a bomb attack in Boston. BH is a terrorist group and should be treated as such.
