The corpse of Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, who died on Sunday, 1st December at 63, after a brief illness, was placed on a Monarch chair for the elders and chiefs to pay homage to as part of the tradition in Akure. This is a way of wishing the late traditional ruler farewell. Oba Adesida became Deji of Akure 3 years ago in 2010 after the
previous Oba, Oluwadare Adesina Adepoju, was dethroned and banished by
the Ondo state government for physically attacking his wife and pouring
an unknown substance on her skin.
According to DailyPost, the paramount ruler’s palacewas filled with crowd and the palace Chiefs were busy paying homage to the late Deji as if he was alive. The burial date for the late king is yet to be announced. See the disturbing photo of the late ruler on his seat below...
