I OWE NOBODY ANY APOLOGY FOR MY ABSENCE - GOV. CHIME

Seriously, we take a lot bullshit from these our leaders. Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime, who left the state with no explanations of his whereabouts for almost five months, said he never regretted the fact that Nigerians particularly the people he governs were kept in the dark during his five-month absence insisting that he owed nobody any apology for keeping them guessing throughout the period. He said he had cancer of the nose which he had to treat in a London hospital during his long period of absence from office.

 “Cancer is a deadly disease and the cure is also deadly. The cure for cancer is not Panadol. The cure for cancer is not these drugs you buy off the counter. By the time you go through Chemotherapy and radiotherapy, you will be a changed person. “So I started treatment and the treatment altogether lasted for twelve weeks. Throughout the period of my treatment, I was an outpatient. I was never admitted in any hospital. All my treatments, I took as an outpatient,” he said.

KESHI WITHDRAWS HIS RESIGNATION

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, who resigned yesterday has withdrawn his resignation after a meeting with the Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi. Read his statement below;

My attention has been drawn to reports in the media that I have resigned my appointment as the Head Coach of Super Eagles of Nigeria.

While I have had cause to express my displeasure over some issues that happened in the course of our participation in the AFCON 2013, which my team won by the grace of God, especially concerning my relationship with the Nigerian Football Federation, I have since had opportunity to discuss the various issues with all concerned. I am therefore pleased to say that I have reconsidered my position and have decided to continue with my job.

I want to thank the Honourable Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, for his swift and kind intervention.

Signed

Stephen Okechukwu Keshi
