US tennis superstars Serena and Venus Williams arrived in Lagos, Nigeria yesterday, 30 October, ahead of the two-nation tour that will see them play exhibition matches to promote women rights and train kids. Venus arrived at the Murtala Muhammed Airport
in Lagos at about 3PM on Tuesday, October 30,2012 with officials from
the ‘Breaking The Mould,’ BTM campaign team as well as pressmen
welcoming them. Serena arrived later.
They will pay the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, a courtesy visit at the State House on Wednesday (today), after which they will head to a tennis clinic at Ikoyi Club. They will also visit two secondary schools in Lagos on Thursday as part of an inspirational/empowerment campaign of the girl-child in Nigeria, then wrap it up by playing an exhibition match before going to South Africa on Friday, November 2, 2012.
