WHAT MATTERS TO YOU? THE BRAND NAME OR THE FIT?

As much as I love to wear the big names in the fashion world, sometimes I come across items from such ‘big brands’ that fall so short compared to unknown brands, in terms of quality, design and how it compliments me.  At such moments I ask myself, do I compromise? And the answer is a resounding NO! The mistake a lot people make is to assume price is an indication of quality. I have seen celebs wearing very expensive designer outfits which look tacky and unflattering on them. But it’s ok to them, ‘cos it’s a Gucci or a Valentino or Oscar de la Renta.

So let me ask, what really matters? Is it the brand name or how the outfit complements you?

THE TOP 2 NAMES KIM K AND KANYE WEST ARE CONSIDERING FOR THEIR BABY

New parents, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are said to be torn between two names for their new daughter. While Kanye wants to name her 'North', with the child taking her father's surname, she would be 'North West', Kim is said to prefer Kaidence, which would follow her family's 'K' theme. The reality star is said to like the idea of calling the baby Kai for short. The middle name would be Donda, in honour of Kanye's late mother. 

But according to InTouch: 'North is at the top of the list of names'. If named North West, that child will be terribly bullied for her name and she will not forgive her parents for giving her such a ridiculous name. But hey, it's ain't my baby.

CAN SOMEONE PLS MAKE THIS STOP!!!

I'm talking about these bizarre and wicked cultures that target women, and never the men. In the Mursi tribe in Ethiopa, as a sign of pride and identification for the women,  a huge circle will be made through the  lower lip of the ladies, with no lower front teeth. Most times to be able to wear the lip ring, a couple of the lower front teeth are yanked out.

Their lip plates, and the cultural identity and political independence they signify, are a source of great pride for these people, but at the same time they acknowledge that this ancient practice, long since abandoned by other tribes, could point to their backwardness. Today, many young girls have started to choose not to stretch their lips, despite being referred to distastefully as ‘Kwegu’ – the name of a poor neighbouring tribe – for doing so. Such young women may face difficulty in finding a Mursi husband, yet they seem determined to leave the practice behind for a changing world.

I really want this stunning sparkling cape top (even though I don't have that wash board tummy to show off ) Rihanna wore on Sunday night to Boujis club in London to watch her brother Rorrey Fenty DJ. She paired it with a low-slung ripped jeans, turned up at the cuff, and holographic silver sandals. Nice! Rihanna has got to be one of the best dressed celebrities of the decade! Oh, sorry, she hasn't been around that long.

MAN KILLED WIFE FOR CHEATING ON HIM, ATTEMPTS SUICIDE

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man, Daniel Kanjo, for allegedly killing his 24-year-old wife, Meno Kanjo, in Elemoro, Ajah area of the state. According to police investigations, Daniel stabbed his wife to death after catching her making love to another man in a bush near their home.

According to a police source at Elemoro Divison, after stabbing his wife many times, the suspect also stabbed himself in the stomach and in the neck.

The suspect and the wife were thought to be dead,  forcing the residents to call the police to evacuate the corpses. As policemen were packing the corpses to the mortuary, Daniel was, however, discovered to be breathing and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

The item I am loving today and wishfully thinking to be mine is this Christian Louboutin Zoulou Python with ethic prints and straps that go on for days, from the Christian Louboutin's Spring 2013 Spring collection.   The collection has a number of cross cultural multi ethnic shoes, which includes African textures, zebra, floral and tie dye patterns. 

Jada Pinkett Smith has been seen rocking this bad boy from the spring debut.

WOULD YOU ACCEPT A PROPOSAL WITHOUT A RING?

I found this interesting and thought to share with you guys. 

 

Over the weekend, I got engaged. I was never the type of girl to dream of what her perfect proposal would be like, but this one was perfect for me It was just the two of us, a tender moment…and no ring.

When I told my loved ones I was engaged, they were all thrilled for me. But one friend said my engagement wasn’t “official” until I got the ring on my finger. I quickly corrected her saying that the engagement indeed official because he asked and I accepted. The ring, one we choose together, will just be icing on the cake but certainly not necessary when declaring your love for someone. I’m sure there are women who would not even entertain a proposal without the ring, but that didn’t mean anything to me. He told me he couldn’t wait another day without asking me to be his wife. He was overtaken by love and asked from his heart…not the jewelry store.
