CEASE FIRE: BOKO HARAM DEMANDS N26BN FROM FG AND BORNO GOVT.

Boko Haram has asked the federal and Borno State governments for N26billion. You won't believe this -they claim they will use it to compensate themselves, their members for all their losses, especially their houses, cars and businesses that have been destroyed by government and to take care of the families of their members that had been killed by soldiers. Like seriously?!!!

This, they say, is a major condition to sustain the one-week-old ceasefire it announced last Monday.  Wait for the next shocker; the demand has already been accepted by the Borno State government. Yep, you heard right. Apparently, this demand was also made 6 months ago when Boko Haram first declared the cease fire and apparently continued their evil deeds when the FG refused to pay. 

So, is the federal government negotiating with terrorists? And if they are considering using our money to pay these killers, it's as good as saying the FG paid for thousands of Nigerians to be killed. A country where killers have the audacity to demand to be paid for ending the lives of thousands of innocent citizens, including children and women, in the most gruesome manner. Everything is wrong with this country. SMH!

On January 23rd, 18-year-old Emily Victoria Oke was crowned the first ILOILO'S MISS DINAGYANG, a beauty contest in Philippine. Emily is 2nd year Biology Student of Central Philippine University and she's half Filipino/Nigerian. Stunning girl. Congrats!

SUBSIDY SCAM: FAROUK LAWAN TO SPEND ONE WEEK IN KUJE PRISONS

Emenalo and Farouk,to spend one week at Kuje prison

Member of the House of Representatives, Farouk Lawan and Boniface Emenalo were on Friday remanded in prison custody following his arraignment by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission at a Federal Capital Territory High Court on seven counts of criminal dealing. 

The lawmakers, among other things, were accused of demanding and collecting bribe in the aggregate sum of $3million from the Chairman of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, Femi Otedola, to ensure that Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd escaped prosecution even though the committee had ab-initio found it culpable in the fuel subsidy fraud.

They will remain in Kuje prisons pending the determination of their bail application on February 8. Good. I hope this will serve as a warning to politicians that no one is above the law; or are they?

2 STUDENTS COMMIT SUICIDE IN UNILAG IN 1 MONTH

Two undergraduate students of UNILAG have commited suicide within a month. A young man of about 27 years simply identified as Seun committed suicide on January 19. His action has left his family and friends in shock.

Seun, who lived with his aunt at  9, Alhaja Adijat Lawal, Beesam, Mafoluku, Lagos, where the incident  occurred,  went out to buy a substance and locked himself inside his room before ingesting the unidentified substance.

It seemed those in the house when he went to buy the substance suspected he was going to do something drastic because they later forced the door open, but he had already ingested the substance he went to buy. They quickly took him to the hospital but he died later that evening in the hospital. Neighbors say he was a brilliant student.

But judging from , Wizkid's tweet above, seems the rumours were true after all and he's leaving the music label. He has also up-dated his profile on twitter by removing EME/Konvict music. BEYONCE FINALLY ADDRESSES LIP SYNCHING CONTROVERSY

 After ignoring the much-talked about lip synching at Obama's inauguration, Beyonce has finally admitted that she didn't sing live during her performance of the National Anthem on Inauguration Day. On Thursday, during a press conference ahead of her Super Bowl half-time performance, she explained that she sang over a pre-recorded track - because she didn't have time to rehearse with the orchestra for the big day on January 21.

  

'I am a perfectionist, I will practice until my feet bleed but I didn't get a chance. 'The inauguration was about the president I wanted to make him and the country proud. I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track which is something that is common in the music industry. I always sing live, the inauguration was unfortunately a time when I didn't have time to rehearse with the the orchestra because I was rehearsing for the Super Bowl.' she said.

To show the critics of her Inauguration Day performance that she can sing, she  gave a sterling live performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl press junket, wearing a stunning short white dress and after the event, she  changed into a figure-fitting orange Antonio Berardi Fall 2012.

TEARS AS HELEN UKPABIO BURIES MOTHER AND SISTER AFTER LOOSING THREE BROTHERS THE SAME DAY

It was all tears and anguish on Saturday in Mbete, Nkari clan in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State when the proprietor of Liberty Films and Liberty Gospel Church, Evangelist Mrs. Helen Ukpabio, buried her mother and younger sister in one fell swoop. While the mother, Madame Atim Essesin Akpabio, 72, was said to have died in November 2012, the sister, Miss Elizabeth Essesien Akpabio, 37, was said to have died earlier, after learning that men, suspected to be security operatives, had gunned down her three brothers in front of their mother in March 2012. 

According to documents distributed and read at the funeral, Evangelist Ukpabio's younger brothers, Emmanuel, Charles andJoseph were arrested while with a friend in Ikot Ekpene and brought back home to the village where they were shot dead in the presence of their aged mother.

 At premiere of Laide Bakare's movie, 'Jejere', which held recently in Lagos, the Gongo Aso crooner snubbed his ex-wife and mother of his son, Zion in the presence of K1 and Laide Bakare. Toni who came in before 9ice arrived sat on the right side of the hall at a table to K1 and Laide, 9ice ignored her and walked past her to greet K1 and thereafter chatted heartily with Laide. Immediately after, he left for the left side of the hall to sit by one Alhaji Murphy Afolabi.

On the red carpet just before the event started, Toni had told newsmen that, “I would not speak on anything personal. If the question has to do with 9ice I would not comment. I am not here for him.”  When asked about 9ice's refusal to acknowledge her presence, she said, "but I was not there for him now, why are you making a story out of this?" Guess the estranged couple won't be hanging out like Kimora Lee Simons does with all her ex.

Finally, Rihanna  has admitted that she and Chris Brown are back togather. In a recent interview in the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, she said she is unrepentant about her decision to forgive him for beating her nearly four years ago saying their relationship is different now. She said; 

 'I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you’ve got to be kidding right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn’t bury the way I felt.''But I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. 

'Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.'
