ADAORA IKOKWU WINS MAIDEN EDITION OF FACE OF SYLVIA'S HAIR

The finals of the Face Of Sylvia’s Hair Season 1 (FOSH) took place at the Marquee Hall, Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island on Sunday 21st October 2012, and 23 year-old Adaora Ikokwu won the star prize of N1,000,000, a brand new KIA motor and a trip to Dubai. Chinazom Sandra Mbagwu followed closely as the first  runner-up clinching a N500,000 cash prize plus lots of fantastic prizes. The second runner-up, Jessica Henshaw won N500,000.

The contest was organised by the hair extensions line, Sylvia’s Hair which is owned by MGBN 2011 winner, Sylvia Nduka.

JIM IYKE TO HOST HIS OWN REALITY TV

The Nollywood actor has revealed that he will be airing his own reality TV show, titled Jim Iyke Unscripted. The show which is aimed at giving his fans and viewers access to all areas of his life is a joint production of African Magic and Oh Africa TV.

The deal for the reality show was reportedly brokered by Jim’s Uk-based management company Greyology Inc. The reality show, which is based on his true life story is expected to hit the screen in a few weeks.

"Months back I met kike and within 3months, I left Bimbo my wife whom we had done our family introduction together. I really can't tell what came over me and I became an item with kike and dumped bimbo. When I realised my mistakes and wanted to move on kike went to the press using all kind of lies calling me a wife beater and sending a makeup picture to the press. During the process she realised she was pregnant and claimed it was my baby I accepted it and took care of her but kike disappeared and it was only through sms that I got to know she has had the baby and I just saw the pictures on internet just like you."

PROPHETESS SET ABLAZE DURING TRANCE CELEBRATION

30 year-old Prophetess Folashade Esther Ogunseye of the Celestial Church Genesis Agbado, Ogun was accidentally set ablaze during a celebration  organised in her honor for going into trance for seven days. In the midst of the celebration, one of the church workers allegedly sprayed perfume known in celestial parlance as Ona La on the dancers without taking cognizance of lighted candles which some of them were holding which started a fire and Sade was set ablaze along with three other members who had joined in the celebration.

Sade who said she  had warned them not to celebrate the trance for her but to pray, was the worst hit.

Her condition is quite severe, "I cannot do anything as I am. I always feel hot. My neck is always paining me. I can't wear my clothes. I cannot sleep unless the fan is on. My neck region is always paining me. I have to put ice-block or pour cold water on myself to reduce the heat. For how long will I do this?" she said.

AKWA IBOM GIRL SHOT BY POLICEMEN IN ABUJA IS BURIED

Lucy Ukpong, the sales girl killed by some policemen in Apo, Abuja on October 12, (if you missed it, read it HERE) was buried amid tears at Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday. Lucy’s remains were buried at 1.13pm at her family’s compound on Udo Inyang Street, Etinan. Apart from her parents, she also left a son, Devine Godswill, behind.

The police authorities had pleaded with the family to accept an amicable settlement of the matter but the family have said nothing short of justice will be acceptable to them.

FG TO RE-OPEN THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE IN LAGOS ON NOVEMBER 6

The Federal Ministry of Works on Thursday said the 3rd mainland bridge in Lagos will be opened to traffic on November 06, 2012. The bridge was closed for repairs on July 1st, 2012. Yeah, I  know, Lagosians are breathing a sigh of relief.

JONATHAN VISITS AKWA IBOM, PROMISES SUPPORT FOR HANGER PROJECT

President Goodluck Jonathan was in Akwa Ibom yesterday, 27th October, 2012 to lay the foundation of the new Akwa Ibom ultra-modern stadium designed in line with global standard for such infrastructure, and commissioning of the new Governor’s office. During his one day visit to the State, he promised that the federal government will partner with Akwa Ibom State government in the construction of Maintenance,Repair and Overhaul, MRO facilities at Akwa Ibom International Airport and also promised that funds spent by the state to dualise the Uyo to Aba and Itu to Calabar expressway projects will be refunded.

According to the President, the facility has the potential of turning Nigeria into an aviation hub of the sub-region if completed. President Jonathan commended Governor Akpabio’s effort to transform the state. Governor Akpabio said the construction of a new stadium, is motivated by the desire of the state to make its citizens partake in the multi-billion dollars global sports industry.

I'm only putting this up so that drivers can realize that the lives of humans on the road are in your hands every time you're behind the wheel, their SAFETY is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY too. The accident occurred in Asaba recently. My heart is in pieces right now. I am terribly shaken up by this, the most gory thing I have ever seen.

10 DEAD, 145 INJURED IN KADUNA CATHOLIC CHURCH BOMBING TODAY

Another bloody Sunday as suicide attacker drove a car bomb into the  St. Rita Catholic Church in  Ungwar Yero  area of Kaduna metropolis this morning killing 10 people and injuring about 145 people. The attacker rammed an SUV into the church forcing its way into the church premises and there was a huge explosion as the car reached the church building. "It was dust, fire and smoke all over," a witness said. The attack which occurred around 8:50 am during the morning mass has sparked fierce reprisals that saw a Christian mob burn a man alive.

Christian youths took to the streets of Kaduna with machetes and sticks after the blast, targeting those they believed to be Muslims as anger again boiled over due to repeated church bombings in recent months. Attackers beat a motorcycle taxi driver near the church, then put his bike on top of him before dousing him with petrol and setting him on fire. Two other bloodied bodies apparently killed by the mob were seen near the church.

In June alone,  Boko Haram claimed responsibility for three suicide attacks on churches in Kaduna state which led to violent riots which left a lot of people dead.

KEFEE RESPONDS TO HER FASHION CRITICS

The gospel artiste has been criticized for wearing revealing outfits which she shouldn't be seen in being a  gospel artiste. See Kefee's reply to her critics below;

"Abeg leave them o. That is good for the talk. They need to have something to talk about. I dress beautifully. I dress the way I like. There are times I just want to look weird, I want to have some color on my hair. I just feel like that sometimes. And just because someone has issues with it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t express myself, fashion wise, the way I feel. Everybody cannot like everything you’re doing and I understand that. Like not everybody wants the air that we breath in, some people want to die.’

LARA GEORGE WELCOMES BABY GIRL

 Guys, I'm sorry I've been MIA, it's been a busy weekend but I'm fully back and at your service. Former member of defunct gospel singing group KUSH, Lara George, welcomed her second child today. The singer delivered a baby girl in the US yesterday, October 27, 2012.

Lara George and her hubby Gbenga George welcomed their first child, a boy, in 2006. Congrats to them!
