SAD: TEENAGE DRIVER CRUSHES TODDLER TO DEATH IN LAGOS (PHOTO)

When three-year-old Ikeoluwa Olaniyi was playing with her friends in her grandfather’s compound in Ire Akari Estate, Isolo, Lagos, on September 3, 2013, little did she know that death was lurking.

ASSOCIATED AIRLINE CRASH: SURVIVING TECHNICIAN DIES

One of the survivors of the October 3 Associated Airline crash that left 15 people dead in Lagos has died. Mr Samson Fatoye was the aircraft's technician and he suffered severe burns from the crash. He died around 7pm on Wednesday at the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos, where he had been receiving treatment.

Fatoye died few hours after immigration officials from Abuja arrived in the hospital with electronic data capturing machine to prepare passport for the survivors to travel overseas for further treatment. The remaining four survivors, including the two cabin crew members, were captured, using the machine and they will be flown overseas for further treatment any time soon. One of the 2 surviving flight attendants, Mrs. Quinneth Owolabi, had her 10 toes and five fingers amputated days ago.

With Mr Fatoye's death, the  total number of dead victims of the ill-fated plane which crashed while conveying the remains of former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Agagu, from Lagos to Akure is now 16.  So sad. May he RIP. I wish government would just hasten up all the help they want to render to these people.

Kanye West proposed to his baby mama and girlfriend, Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday, 21st October (she's my hubby's birthday mate, by the way). Kanye, who gushed 'I have never loved any girl, other than my mother, as much as I love my girlfriend,' during an interview on Monday, went all out to make the proposal as special and magical as possible. He  rented the San Francisco baseball field out for $35,000 and hired a 50-member orchestra for $50,000. 

They performed his hit Knock You Down and Lana Del Ray's Young & Beautiful, before fireworks lit up the sky and the words 'PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!' flashed up on the scoreboard. He got down on one knee and proposed to Kim with a flawless 15-carat diamond ring. She said yes, ofcourse. Kim also gushed to E! News, "'Last night was truly magical!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!'I get to marry my best friend!'  Congrats to them. Cameras were rolling as the proposal was filmed for the Kardashian's reality show, which isn't doing so well now. To boost the show's rating I believe. More pics below...

YAAY! BACK TO BLOGGING AS I GRADUATE

Don't know where to begin with the apologies. Been MIA for 2 weeks! Chai! I know ya'all are so angry with me. Biko, no vex. Had a lot of personal issues I had to sort out plus Fashion school ain't easy. finally graduated today sha. Now the real work starts, kinda of scared 'cos I don't know what the futeure holds but I've got God and that's all I need. So, my journey to becoming a renowned Fashion Designer begins now! Will also get back to blogging, as much as I can, now. Thanks for all your support especially those who went the extra mile to mail me to find out what was going on with me. How I love you guys so.

STEPHANIE LINUS BECOMES BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR DIVA PADS

Stephanie Linus has just signed a deal to become the brand ambassador for Diva Pads. The Nollywood actress was recently announced as the face of brand of the sanitary pad line at a press conference held in Lagos. The actress is also the brand ambassador for Kanekalon Hair. Big congrats to her.

D'banj granted an interview to reporters on Wednesday which was published in PUNCH  today, during the interview, he kept gushing about how wonderful Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji is and how he would love to marry her. D'banj and Genny dated a few years ago and she was the leading lady in the video for his hit song, 'Fall in Love'. In the interview, he said;

 

“I would love to have Genevieve as my wife.  We never can tell what God plans for us in the future. I have studied her and I realised that anyone that has her as his woman has found himself a treasure. Just like the Bible says, any man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.”

WHAT ARE WE TURNING INTO? HIT & RUN VICTIM DIES AS PASSERS BY REFUSED TO HELP BUT STOLE HIS ATM CARD

Nigerians seriously need to start appreciating how precious and priceless life is, and once it is taken away, it can never be returned that. A young man, identified as Oluwayemi Oguntimehin, was on Tuesday killed after he was crushed by a hit-and-run driver, around 7am, along the Mafoluku/Ibadan Express-way, Lagos.

According to an eyewitness, Ilesanmi Olabode, who was on his way to his office when the accident occurred, the deceased, who sustained head injuries and fractured limbs would have survived the accident if he had been taken to a hospital immediately. 

Olabode said, “It was around 7am when I was going to my office. I just saw that the guy, while trying to cross the expressway, was hit by the car. I quickly rushed there and with the support of some other people, we carried him to the Mafoluku/Gbagada bus stop. I saw that he was still alive but all the vehicles we tried to flag down to help us take him to the Gbagada General Hospital refused to stop, including a Lagos State Emergency bus.”

According to him, a tricycle however stopped, but because there were not enough people to support, the victim was left to die. He said he handed over the victim to an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, who promised to call his colleagues to evacuate him.

“But to my surprise, when I came back to check, I saw that Oguntimehin was still on the road and was now dead. One of his two ATM cards, which I saw on him, was missing. I believed it had been stolen,” he said.

The General Secretary, Council of Oworonsoki Youth Forum, Mr. Kabiawu Babajide, told our correspondent that Oguntimehin was identified through his UBA ATM card. 

Such a senseless and avoidable death. That's someone's son, brother, husband, or father and people just refused to help? SMH. I tire for Nigerians; they are quick to mete out justice and kill, but slow to save a life. See the photo of the deceased after the cut but viewer discretion is advised...

ASSOCIATED AIRLINE CRASH: ONE OF SEVEN SURVIVOR DIES

One of the 7 survivors in the ill fated Associated Airline crash last week Thursday has died, raising the death toll to 14. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris disclosed that out of the seven survivors, two were in critical conditions and unfortunately one died over the weekend while the other one in the critical state had an operation and is still in critical state. He confirmed that the remaining four are in stable condition. No word yet on the identity of the victim who died. So sad. I wish the others speedy recovery.

BRUCE AND KRIS JENNER SEPARATE AFTER 22 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

Kris and Bruce Jenner have confirmed that they are separated after 22 years of marriage.  There had been rumors of their separation for about a year and every time it came up, they both denied it… well Kris denied it, and it’s not hard to figure out why… to keep the empire she has built intact for as long as possible. They've been living apart for a while but officially announced their separation yesterday. According to Eonline.com;

"We are living separately and we are much happier this way," the pair exclusively tell E! News. "But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority."

Kris and Bruce have two daughters, Kendall, 17, and Kylie, 16, together, and four children each from previous relationships. I doubt if this famous family will survive all these trouble… Lamar’s drug scandal, and this?

NIGERIAN POLICE KILL AGAIN; I SAW POLICE KILL MY DAD - 6-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A six-year-old girl, Mariam Adeniji, is currently in shock after witnessing the killing of her father, Rafiu Adeniji, who was allegedly shot dead by policemen on Sunday. The little girl, who spoke to PUNCH Metro while trying to fight back tears, said her father was killed after challenging policemen over an accident along the Mangoro end of Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. 

She said, “My daddy was driving home when someone hit his car. He went to see the policemen; they just brought out their guns and shot him. They then ran away.”
