I AM NOT WANTED BY THE POLICE- DAVIDO RELEASES STATEMENT

There were rumours going round that Davido was wanted by the Nigerian Police. The singer has issued a statement through his manager saying the rumours are false. Read the statement below;

'I want to assure all my beloved fans and friends that, I am not wanted by the police and no officer in the Nigerian police gave an order for my arrest. I went to the police some weeks ago to give a statement and cleared my name‘.

 ‘I did not beat up any taxi driver and the lady that hired the taxi driver and all those that are involved in this matter have made statements to the police and none of them mentioned my name except the taxi driver who claims that a large sum of money was missing in his taxi. In fact the lady in question stated that she was not beaten by anyone and that nobody assaulted the taxi driver.‘, 

‘This is a case of blackmail, and I have resolved not to succumb to any blackmail for money. And to all those that are involved in this conspiracy to bring me down, I want to remind you that God Almighty himself got me to where I am today in my music career and you will not succeed in your devilish efforts to bring me down‘.

His manager added: ’These are all false. I’m sure you all know we have been in the states shooting videos for the last two weeks‘.

The owner of YouPorn, Corey price, wrote a letter to the Editor of Closer Magazine saying he wants to buy the "intimate footage" the Closer Editor has been bragging about.  Price writes, "We feel very confident that we can show this footage legally, and would like to make you aware that we have an 'open checkbook.'"

The Closer Editor has said she is holding back in publishing the "intimate" pictures but didn't say why.

FORMER MINISTER OF INTERIOR RELEASED

The former Minister of Interior and owner of Integrated Oil and Gas Ltd, Capt. Emmunel Iheanacho, who was arrested on Friday, has been released on Friday night by the Lagos State Command of the State Security Service (SSS). It was alleged that his company received stolen petroleum products in its depot.

Officials of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and armed forces personnel attached to the Global West Vessel Specialist Limited (GWVSL) invaded  Integrated Oil and Gas  corporate headquarters, Marine Road, Apapa on Friday where the former minister was arrested and kept for several hours at NIMASA before the matter was transferred to the Lagos State Command of the SSS.

Sources at the oil firm headquarters Saturday, confirmed the release of Iheanacho but efforts to get him to tell his story proved abortive. (Vanguard)

FG GIVES OUT MILLIONS TO PARALYMPIANS FALCONETS

At the reception organised in  honour of the Nigerian 2012 Paralympians at the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday, President Goodluck Jonathan announced that the gold medalists will receive N5m each, silver medalists N3m, and N2m for bronze ,medalists while others participants without medals will receive N500,000 each, for bringing such honor to the country.

Also, the  Falconets will each get  N1m,  while their coaches and handlers will receive N1.2m each.

Well deserved.

FORMER MINISTER OF INTERIOR ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED THEFT OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

The National Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) yesterday arrested a former Minister of Interior, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, over alleged stealing of petroleum products.

Some stolen petroleum products and a hijacked vessel were said to have been traced to the premises of his company, Integrated Oil and Gas Limited, in Apapa, Lagos.

Following the attack on the U.S embassy in Libya that led to the death of the U.S Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, the U.S embassy in Nigeria on Wednesday 12 September warned the Americans in the country about the threat of attacks by extremists and to consider their personal security and to keep personal safety in the forefront of their planning. The embassy warned them to use caution and discretion when deciding to attend large functions or visit establishments identified as potential targets, and respond appropriately if they detect suspicious activities.

The attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi came after a controversial movie about Prophet Mohammed was made by an Israeli-American, Sam Bacile, living in California, triggering a chain reaction of attacks against America in some other Muslim countries.

The  U.S Embassy in Nigeria fears terrorists in Nigeria may latch on the spreading rage against the movie to attack its citizens as security conditions in the country remained ”fluid and unpredictable.”

I wonder what our government is doing to stop the attacks from Boko Haram and change the image of our country for good.

FEDERAL HIGH COURT DISMISSES CASE AGAINST GOVERNOR AKPABIO'S ELECTION

Justice Abdul Kafarati of the Federal High Court Abuja has dismissed the case brought by Engr Frank Okon against the election of Chief Godswill Akpabio as Governor of Akwa Ibom State. He held that the case lacked merit.

In a ruling delivered a few moments ago, the Judge declined jurisdiction on the matter and said it that as was held by the Supreme Court in the Timipre Sylva's case, only the political party can determine its candidate in an election. The Judge awarded a total cost of N150,000 against Frank Okon.

ACTRESS NGOZI NWOSU CRITICALLY SICK

Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, is very ill and bedridden in her home in Lagos State. She was earlier diagnosed with a kidney related disease and had planned to go abroad for treatment before her condition worsened. Her colleagues are presently doing their best to raise the funds required for treatment.

She has really lost a lot of weight, she is a shadow of her old robust self.

ARMED ROBBERS INVADE NKEM "OSOFIA" OWOH'S HOUSE

The Enugu residence of Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, was raided by yet-to-be-identified hoodlums. He lost his Mitsubishi Montero SUV along with other valuables in the robbery.
Owoh was in Abuja when the robbery incident occurred.

‘I was in Abuja last week Saturday when my neighbors called that it was like my place was burgled, that my gate appeared to be open. I asked them to check and they reported back that out of the three vehicles parked in the compound, the Jeep was no longer there’, the actor told Daily Post.

 No life was lost in the attack.

BEN BRUCE PUTS LATE VANGUARD PUBLISHER'S SON ON SCHOLARSHIP

Silverbird Group chairman Ben Murray-Bruce has offered a scholarship to one of the children of the late Vanguard entertainment editor,Amadi Ogbonnaya, who died on August 29.

He made this announcement during a condolence visit to the family in Lagos.

Amadi’s last son, Ben, 6, was named after Ben Bruce, an entertainment and business mogul with whom the late Amadi had a close relationship.

Bruce will sponsor Ben who is currently in Primary school through his  secondary school and University education. 

The late veteran writer will be buried in Okagwe, Ohafia, Abia state, his hometown on October 12, 2012.
