SHARIA COURT GRANTS WOMAN DIVORCE 'COS HER HUSBAND COULDN'T PROVIDE FOOD FOR THE FAMILY

Yes, you heard right. A Kaduna Sharia Court on Tuesday granted divorce to a 23-year-old mother of one,  Maijidda Waziri, because her husband failed to provide food to the family. Waziri who brought the case on  Oct. 17 to the Sharia Court said her husband, Mohammed Sani had failed in his obligation to feed the family, and that she had to rely on her parents for food. She presented three witnesses including her father in-law.

The presiding officer, Malam Ibrahim Inuwa said she had proved her case beyond reasonable doubt and granted her request by dissolving the marriage. Inuwa said Sani had violated a major condition of marriage in Islam, which provided that a person can only marry if he is capable of providing feeding, clothing and shelter to the wife. Lack of feeding is against the Sharia provisions on marriage.

Hehehe. So, under the Sharia Law you can marry a man for his money and divorce him when he becomes broke? That's a dream (or law) come true for some girls. Perfect arrangement, right? lol.
