The President didn't show up but Eastwood gave his speech anyway, addressing the chair like he would the President. Within no time people were already on Twitter posting photos of empty chairs with the hashtag "Eastwooding."

Can't wait to see our version of it. Guys, send me your 'eastwooding' pictures.

NOLLYWOOD ACTOR ARRESTED FOR KILLING WIFE

Rich Oganiru is a popular Nollywood actor, he has stared in many home videos. His name might not ring a bell but his face does. The talented actor has been arrested in Abuja in connection with the alleged killing of his wife, who is said to be very wealthy. He was arrested as a result of the petition by family and relations of the wife who claimed that she was poisoned by the actor in order to acquire her wealth.

The wife was said to have been hospitalised for three months for an undisclosed ailment in an Abuja hospital with the Nollywood actor abandoning her  until the last day she was to be discharged, before Oganiru came to the hospital to take her home, and she died the same day.

The allegation was that Rich Oganiru murdered his wife through poison but posthumous examination of the corpse showed she did not die as a result of poison. The actor has been released on bail. Police sources said, "Though our investigation showed he did not treat her like a wife deserves to be treated, there was nothing to show that she died or was killed by poison."

The report alleged that the woman was not his first wife, as the first wife also died years back.

Police sources said the investigation into the alleged murder is still ongoing.

900 ESCAPE DEATH IN LAGOS TRAIN ACCIDENT

About nine hundred passengers narrowly escaped death yesterday morning when a 10-coach Iddo-bound train rammed into a truck at Ilupeju Railway Crossing near Oshodi, Lagos.
The accident occurred at about 7.30 am and led to traffic gridlock on the Ilupeju/Oshodi Road for several hours. An eye witness said that the articulated vehicle blocked the railway crossing when the train was already close by.
The loaded trailer had crashed into the double barriers on the railway crossing shortly before the train arrived.

On seeing the approaching train, the driver jumped out of the trailer and ran away. The train then dragged the truck for some distance, scattering the goods inside it — which were mostly empty cartons of Malta Guinness drink along the track leading to the damage of some vehicles parked along the rail track by motor mechanics.

Thankfully, no life was lost. This is the third time in August that passenger trains have rammed into vehicles at railway crossings in the Lagos.
