The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos on Thursday discharged and acquitted
the former Chief Security Officer to the late Gen. Sani Abacha
(Al-Mustapha) of the murder of Kudirat Abiola.
Al-Mustapha had initially been convicted and sentenced to death for the assassination of late Kudirat Abiola, wife of the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election. But the Court of Appeal overturned the conviction of the lower court. According to reports, Al-Mustapha’s first port of call was to Prophet T.B Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). According to the Prophet, his relationship with Al-Mustapha has come a long way reportedly claiming he had foretold Al-Mustapha’s release which explains his courtesy visit to SCOAN.
