HOW DO YOU COPE WITH A WIFE WHO EARNS MORE THAN YOU?

I saw this in a magazine and would like to know what you guys think of it, 'cos I know there are men out there who are in this shoes and would like to be advised on how to deal with it;

Does your wife earn more than you? Do you feel like you need to get another job? Does she get home later than you do? Did she buy the cars at home and pay for the children’s school fees? Do you sometimes wish you could just have her resign her work and just stay at home taking care of the kids? A lot of men find themselves in your shoes and share similar reservations. While it’s typical to think this way, how should you then deal with it?
Or do you think you should make up for it by being at home on time, going through home work with his kids, making sure dinner is ready for your wife and patiently waiting for her every night till she is back, believing that if you can’t meet with the financial needs, then you should compensate in other areas of family life?

Someone once told me of a female friend who is richer than her husband. When her husband travels, she buys expensive gifts for the kids and around the house, and hides them when he gets back because he forbids her from buying what he can't afford to buy. She is of the opinion that she can't live like a poor woman when she can afford the finer things in life. It is like a secret between her and the kids.

This should be interesting. Over to the guys.

  1. i don't mind my wife earning more than me as long as I'm able to provide the basic things in the family. She can take care of the excesses. I also expect her to assist when I'm financially down till I pick myself up again. That's what marriage is all about, supporting each other.

  3. A lot of men have insecurity issues. I earn more than my husband, for most part he performs his duties as the head of the house and doesn't mind me assisting, while sometimes it gets to him. I respect a man who doesn't mind assistance from time to time.
