POPE'S LAST TWEET AS HE BIDS FAREWEL

Pope Benedict XVI has left the Vatican for the final time as leader of the Catholic Church as he has now officially retired. He isthe first pontiff in 600 years to resign. He left the Vatican by a white helicopter for the 15 minute flight to Castel Gandalfo instead of the half-hour car journey through the streets of Rome.
