Following the killing of 7 female health workers in Kano last week, the broadcasting license of the Wazobia FM in Kano State North West Nigeria has been revoked by the Nigeria Broadcast Commission with immediate effect.
The ban is as a result of the controversial programme "Sanda Girma" that aired on Wazobia FM Kano which the authorities believe instigated the people against polio vaccination and led to killing of the health workers. The presenter of the programme, Yakubu Musa, and Malam Mubaraq, a
news room staff are standing trial over their alleged role in the sad incident. 19 people lost their jobs yesterday for some 'miss yarn' by a shallow minded presenter, so sad.
