TERRENCE J REPLACES RYAN SEACREST AS CO-HOST OF E! NEWS

Terrence J, former host of '106 & Park, will be joining Giuliana Rancic as a co-anchor of E! News starting November 12. He is replacing Ryan Seacrest who is extremely busy being the executive producer and host of 'American Idol' and 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,'. He also has his own radio show.

Terrence co-starred in a movie this year, 'Think Like A Man,' that turned out to be a box office hit.

PETER OKOYE ORGANISES SUPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND, LOLA OMOTAYO

Peter Okoye organized a surprise birthday party for his baby mama, Lola Omotayo, who is pregnant with his second child, on Sunday, September 2 , at West Fosters, Queens drive, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The party was attended by family members and friends of the couple.

ZENIT ST PETERSBURG SIGN HULK AND WITSEL FOR $101M

Russian club Zenit St Petersburg have splashed out a reported $101m to sign Brazilian striker Hulk,( real name Givanildo Vieira de Souza) and Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel from Portuguese clubs Porto and Benfica.

The 26-year-old Hulk, who played for Brazil during the 2012 Olympics, joined Zenit on a five-year contract in a transfer deal worth $50.7m, while the 23-year-old Witsel signed for a similar fee and length of contract.

Both players have been signed in time to play for Zenit in the Champions League, with the Russian club drawn in the same group as Malaga, AC Milan and Anderlecht.

SHARAPOVA PROTECTS THREE-SET RECORD TO REACH U.S OPEN QUARTER FINALS

Maria Sharapova's impressive record of winning matches that go to three sets in 2012 shows no sign of ending after the Russian beat Nadia Petrova in the U.S. Open fourth round to set up a quarterfinal meeting with Marion Bartoli.

Sharapova won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in a two hour and 14 minute victory giving the tennis star her 11th win in three-set matches in 2012 and her 23rd victory in 24 three-setters since the start of 2011.

HEIDI KLUM: SEAL HAS MOVED ON, SO HAVE I

In her statement on Monday, Heidi Klum said, “Seal has moved on and so have I,” “My priority has and continues to be protecting and providing for our children." She said this in response to Seal's accusation of her sleeping with her body guard.

The couple announced their split in January saying they continued to “love each other very much” but had grown apart. Klum filled for divorce in April.

The couple use to renew their vows each year in an over-the-top themed party, they called it quits after seven years of marriage.

I really admired them as a couple, thought they would last for ever. Guess not.

IRANIAN PARALYMPIAN REFUSES TO SHAKE KATE MIDDLETON

 

Iranian paralympian, Mehrdad Karam Zadeh, refused to shake hands with Kate Middleton at a medal ceremony because the country's customs forbid a man from shaking the hand of a woman who is not related. 

He put his hands to his chest and bowed instead, as he is not permitted to touch the hand of a woman who is not a relative. Kate was reportedly not shaken, but rather happy to accept his wishes. She had been informed of his cultural and religious restrictions ahead of time.

PASTOR ITUAH IGHODALO LOSES DAD

Pastor of the Trinity House Church, Ituah Ighodalo has lost his father, Jeremiah Ighodalo. He died on Friday, August 31, 2012. He was 89. The 51-year-old pastor and businessman who’s married to event planner Ibidun Ajayi, made the announcement on his facebook page.

USA have won the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final with a 2-0 victory over Nigeria's Falconets. This is their third title.
We didn't win but I am so proud of our Falconets. They did well.

Organizers of The Channel O Music Video Awards have announced this year's nominees.13 Nigerian artistes have been nominated including pop singers 2face, D’banj, Psquare, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Davido, Mo’Cheddah, Brymo, and Orezi. Highlife singer Flavour, R&B diva Tiwa Savage and rappers Naeto C and Ice Prince are also up for nominations. The event will be talking place on November 19, 2012 in Kliptown, Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa.

MICHEAL CLARKE DUNCAN IS DEAD

 Actor Michael Clarke Duncan, the mountain of muscle in the Oscar-nominated film "The Green Mile," died Monday in Los Angeles after a massive heart attack in July. He passed away early hours on Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at age 54. He suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered. May he rest in peace.

PATIENCE JONATHAN NOT ILL, "TAKES A MOMENT REST"

 
The first lady's spokesman, Ayo Osinlu, has denied that the President's wife had been hospitalized for food poisoning. He, however, confirmed that the President's wife is out of the country but is not ill. He said she traveled out of the country to take "a moments rest".

There was confusion on Monday over the trip of President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife, Patience, to Germany.

An online portal, Saharareporters, had reported on Sunday that the wife of the President  was being treated for “food poisoning” which she contracted during a visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirate 11 days ago.

Her  spokesman, however, did not disclose Mrs Jonathan’s whereabouts but said she will be back in the country soon.
