NIGERIAN-AMERICAN RAPPER, WALE, NOMINATED FOR GRAMMY AWARDS

Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, stage name Wale, is a Nigerian-American rapper from Washington D.C. Wale was born to Nigerian parents on September 21, 1984. The rapper rode into the American top 10 music charts in 2006 with the song, "Dig Dug (Shake It)". His rap song Breakdown was featured on the video game, Madden NFL 2009. He was signed on to Rick Ross music group and soon after, to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation for management.

He has been nominated for the Soul Train Music Awards, MTV U Woodie Award, BET Hip Hop Awards, which he won early in 2012 for the Best Collaboration title. And now his song, "Lotus Flower Bom", featuring Miguel, has been nominated for the Grammy Award in the Best Rap Song category.
