QOUTE OF THE DAY: LIYEL IMOKE

The governor of  Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, in a speech during the dinner held by the state for the Super Eagles after their victory over Liberia  puts women in the category of 'delicacies' to be enjoyed by men;
“I had my initial fear for the players the moment the Nigerian Football Federation picked Calabar as venue for the Super Eagles matches. As you are aware, Calabar is home for good food as pounded yam, edikang ikon and afang soup. We also have the best of tourism sites in the country and above all, Calabar is well-known for its beautiful women. My biggest fear initially was that the players might not do well on the pitch after enjoying all those special ‘delicacies.’
