LAGOSIANS TREK AS OKADA BAN, FUEL SCARCITY INTENSIFIES

The restriction of okada on some routes and the worsening fuel scarcity in Lagos State has left Lagosians stranded with a lot of people walking  to their destinations yesterday. There was also a lot of traffic due to queues in filling stations and sallah rush.  Lagos-Ibadan Expressway towards Seven-Up, Yaba, Iyana Ipaja, Ikorodu Road, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Oba Akran Avenue, Oba Ogunnusi Road in Ogba among others witnessed serious traffic snarl.

A lot people have been affected by the ban on okada as  buses do not ply some routes leaving such people stranded. It has also encouraged commercial bus drivers to cash in on the situation to hike their fares from between 50 to 100 per cent.

The decision of the Lagos State government's decision to ban okada is being questioned by the residents of the state. It doesn't seem to be in the best interest of the people.
