Godwin Okeke

The Chairman of G. U. O. Motors Limited, Chief Godwin Okeke, was kidnapped in Onitsha on Sunday, 23^rd August, 2009. At the hearing in respect of his abduction at an Onitsha High Court in Anambra State yesterday, Godwin Okeke, told the court how he was abducted with his family and how he offered to pay his abductors N1bn rather than the N100m they demanded. I guess when you're faced with death, you won't mind giving up all you have to see you family again. Read his story below;

How he was abducted

Led in the evidence by his counsel, Okeke stated that he went for 7 a.m. service which ended at about 10 a.m, adding that between 10.30 and 11 a.m., his wife mounted the steering of his Nissan Amanda Spots Utility Van, SUV, and was driving towards the church gate when suddenly, gunmen blocked the car with a bus in front and a Mercedes Benz car at the rear.

Okeke told the court that before he could ask questions, the gunmen started shooting sporadically, adding that even though he managed to disarm one or two of them, they shattered his left leg, over-powered him, drove away his wife and family members before bundling him into his SUV and  zoomed off with the abductors’ vehicles following.

D'BANJ SIGNS GLO DEAL 2 YEARS AFTER FALL OUT WITH THE TELECOMS GIANT

Pop star, D’banj’ has signed a multi-million Naira brand endorsement deal with Globacom Nigeria. D'banj and Globacom fell out in 2010 when he refused to extend his initial 2-year contract of N70m because he was offered waay less than the 240m offered to PSquare. This new deal has not even been announced yet but I hear it is the costliest signing of 2013.The official announcement is expected to be made in a matter of days.
