MAY 5, 2013 was Onyinyechi Orakwuelum’s 18th birthday.The day she became an adult and the day she allegedly stabbed to death 19-year-old Akinwale Ayobami, who she said wanted to rape her. Onyinye, who is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, pending investigation, narrated her story to Tribune . Read below;

I am from Nkwele Ogidi in Anambra. I finished from Saint Gabriel Commercial Secondary School, Mokola, Ibadan, in 2011.The deceased (Ayobami) was my mate in secondary school, as well as my friend Funmbi.

My parents moved to our personal house at Ologuneru community in Ibadan, so I lost contact with my friends. One day, my mother came home and told me that she saw my friend, Funmbi, and that they had also moved to Ologuneru. I was happy and we reunited.

JIM IYKE FINALLY BREAKS SILENCE ON EX, KENTURAH'S CLAIM THAT HIS REALITY SHOW IS SCRIPTED

The actor finally responds to his ex-fiancee, Kenturah Hamilton's recent press release saying his 'Jim Iyke Unscripted' show is actually scripted. Read what he said below:

"I am sure you saw part of the clips. Somebody sped off and jumped inside the river. That was a friend of mine. I don't think anybody will accept a script in order to die. I don't ever think anybody could have scripted that. If it was scripted, we would make sure that the lightning, the angles at which we shot was right. The dark pictures and angles at which it was shot is an evidence that it was not scripted. As soon as I wake up and I am ready to go out, they clip something in my jacket to record every conversation that I made through out the day. There's nothing hidden."

You believe him? Cos' I believe all reality shows are scripted. How do you explain the fact that at the beginning of every reality show things seem to be out of control and at the end, like a movie, everything seems to fall into place and all is well again.  

SEVERAL SECURITY OPERATIVES MURDERED BY CULTISTS IN NASSARAWA STATE (GRAPHIC PHOTO)

Several security operatives including police officers, SSS and Civil Defense personnel in Nassarawa State were murdered on Tuesday May 7th when they were sent by the Nassarawa State Commissioner of Police to arrest the cult leader of a notorious militia group called 'Ombatse' (a cult group of the Eggon people of Nasarawa State) at Assakyo Village in Lafia, Nassarawa state.

The state government wanted to arrest the chief priest because the group had been causing security concerns in the state. Unfortunately for the police officers sent to pick the man up, as they approached the Ombatse Shrine in a forest, members of the militia group who had laid ambush for them attacked and killed plenty of them. Many of the police officers were burnt beyond recognition and 8 out of the 11 police patrol vans used to convey the mobile policemen for the operation were burnt by the militia group.

The police command later said that only 17 out of the 90 police officers, minus SSS and NSCDC personnel, who went on the mission returned and all with various degrees of wounds. President Jonathan had to call off his planned visit to Namibia on Thursday because of this sad incident.

Nine girls, forced into pregnancy at a ‘baby factory’ in Imo State ,yesterday spoke of how they became victims. The nine were arrested by the police yesterday after initially escaping during a raid of the ‘baby factory’.Their arrest brings to 26 the number of victims rescued from Ahamefula Motherless Babies Home, Umuaka in Njaba Ciouncil Area of the state. They are aged between 14 and 25.

The visibly exhausted girls said that they were held against their wish by the proprietor of the so-called motherless babies home simply known as Madam One Thousand. The victims are all from Imo. They said their parents were unaware of their whereabouts.

PHOTOS: MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH IN LAGOS

So sad. A man identified as Adeolu Adeleke popularly called Baba Ibeji (father of twins) was killed yesterday, Friday, May 10 in Marina, Lagos, after a mast which fell off a 2-storey building landed on him, crushing him to death. According to eye witnesses, the deceased who sold telephone accessories in Marina met his untimely death when he dashed across Marina Street to fetch a waterproof cover for his goods as it was about to rain but was crushed by the mast as he made his way back to his shade.

One of the people who witnessed the incident and a very close friend of the deceased said Adeleke was warned not to enter the rain because of the strong wind but he refused. “I told him to forget about the goods since the wind was blowing strongly, but he said he would hurry down there quickly not knowing that he will not return,” he said.
