MOTHER OF TWO FOUND DEAD IN HER BED

Bose's lifeless body
Culled from Daily Sun;

In Ososa village in Ogun State, there is a raging puzzle: Who killed Bose, a mother of two children? At her death, she was living with her third husband after two previous failed marriages. Her lifeless body was found on her matrimonial bed on January 10, 2013. It was covered with her own wrapper. Her freshly braided hair was undone. All these raise the suspicion that someone or some people might have attacked her. But who did it, and why?

These are riddles no one, including her husband, Mr. Williams Yellow, can readily provide answers to. And the police? Well, it would seem that it is not of any interest to them. "The police didn't tell us they suspected anything but they asked if we want them to investigate the matter, we asked them not to do so because we know it would gulp a lot of money which we can't afford." That was Bose's father. And for now, the matter is as dead and buried as Bose, the subject.

THE UNENDING RIFT BETWEEN GOV. AKPABIO AND FOMER GOV. ATTAH

Gov. Akpabio and former Gov. Attah
For those of you who don't know, there's been an unending rift between the present and former governors of Akwa Ibom State. All and every person powerful enough to intervene have tried to no avail. The reason behind their rift is a story for another post but you will get some of the gist from this post.This is an open letter by former Governor of Akwa Ibom State,  Victor Attah to the present Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio. Will bring you Akpabio's piece that led to this one later. It is long but quite interesting;

"For a very long time now I have stopped reading anything that is written by or about Barrister Godswill Akpabio the governor of Akwa Ibom State for the reason that I find most of those things sickening and I certainly wanted to avoid being provoked into making a response.

When I was first told that there was another of those write ups in THISDAY newspaper of Friday, January 18, 2013, I simply ignored it. Then again in Vanguard newspaper of Monday, January 21, 2013 my attention was drawn to what must be the same write up.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: SEX IS FOR MARRIED PEOPLE - RAPPER EVA

"I am single but not searching. My mother is working on that. She is going to get me a husband from the village. I don’t know how the search is going for her though. I think Nigerian men are fine, we have the best crop of men in Nigeria. My major priority is to be focused on necessary things. I don’t see relationships as unnecessary but I see sex as unnecessary. I am not a married woman, it is not something I would wake up in the morning and say I would indulge in it. It was created for married people. It is seen as a part of relationships by this generation because people are influenced by what they see on television and read in magazines. The youths are getting very enlightened." - Eva Alordiah

Lol @ "I am single but not searching. My mother is working on that. She is going to get me a husband from the village." Impressed with the rest of the quote.

OKAH: MEND THREATENS TO RESUME HOSTILITIES OVER CONVICTION OF THEIR LEADER

A faction of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), loyal to Mr. Henry Okah, has threatened renewed attacks in the country for the conviction of Okah by a South African Court for the October 1, 2010 bombing in Abuja. MEND in a statement titled “Conviction of our leader, Mr. Henry Okah,” signed by one Comrade Azizi, said the organisation would target multinational oil firms and South African firms operating in the country and that the attacks will not be restricted to Niger Delta but the entire country.

In the statement, they also placed a ban on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Godsday Orubebe, from visiting the Niger Delta.The group which said it is now more sophisticated and deadlier, threatened to carry out attacks on government officials who served from 1999 to date and members of their families as a retaliatory measure against the military invasion of Odi in November 1999.

As if the issue of Boko Haram and kidnapping is not enough to deal with, now MEND too? Hmm, we need the intervention of God to save this nation from collapse. Read Azizi's statement after the cut...

FG TO HELP NGERIAN AIRLINES ACQUIRE NEW AIRCRAFT

As part of the plan to intervene in the nation’s ailing aviation sector, the federal government as put in place a funding system to assist the Nigerian airlines to  purchase brand new aircraft. The federal government is negotiating with aircraft manufacturers to supply brand new aircraft at globally competitive price to Nigerian airlines and funds to make the purchase will be provided by the government on stringent conditions and at very low interest rate, a single digit rate.

This clarification was made on Channels TV weekend breakfast programme; Sunrise, by the Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr George Uriesi. This is an impressive move by the federal government. With new planes, our air travel will definitely be much safer.
