HIV CARRIERS NOT OBLIGATED TO TELL SEX PARTNERS IN CANADA

It is now legal for carriers of the incurable HIV to keep from disclosing their status to their spouses as long as they wear a condom and their HIV levels are low. The ruling was made by the Supreme court of Canada on Friday.

The court ruled 14 years ago that people with HIV must inform their sex partners of their condition, or face a charge of aggravated sexual assault, which carries a maximum life sentence. Not anymore, in a 9-0 ruling on Friday, the Supreme Court reversed this ruling.

This will only help spread the disease faster. The judge who ruled 14 years ago obviously has far more sense than this one. Abeg, if you reside in Canada, zip up your pants!

NITEL WORKERS PROTEST NON-PAYMENT OF 10 MONTHS SALARY ARREARS

The Nigerian Telecommunication Limited (NITEL) is apparently owing its staff 10 months salary arrears while the Security guards have not been paid for 15 months. The workers staged a peaceful protest against the non-payment of their arrears at the Head office in Abuja on Thursday and sealed off the office.

President of the Senior Staff Association of the organisation Elais Kazzah, said the protest was a warning to the management, adding that the workers expected it to act on the matter within one week.

TWO MYSTERIOUS UFOs SEEN IN TEXAS AND NEW MEXICO

Two mysterious and identical UFO's almost 1,000 miles apart have been seen on Google Maps. Nobody knows what they are and how they were photographed there in the first place. It was fist seen in Texas by a user who was using Google Maps to get directions. 

They are red and orb-like shaped and are visible to all users of the application online at Jacksonville in Texas and at Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico.

Facebook announced yesterday, 4th October, 2012 that it now has more than a billion active users . The social network was launched in February 2004 and has become the world’s biggest social network. Co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement yesterday saying the number is “humbling.”

ROBBERY SUSPECT CAUGHT AMONG POLICE RECRUITS

A  robbery suspect was found among recruit constables undergoing training in the The Nigeria Police College, Kaduna on Thursday. The Commandant of the college, Alhaji Sanusi Rufai, said the suspect was named by members of his gang after they were arrested by the police in Abuja. His details and identity were forwarded to the college, which withdrew, arrested and transferred him  to the appropriate police unit for investigation. The suspect was among 25 recruits the college disqualified for various inadequacies identified during training.

How can a criminal suspect have the guts to try to join the Police Force? No wonder armed robbers sometimes wear police uniforms, they are probably part of the Police Force. Screening for police recruits needs to be very stiff, our lives are kinda in their hands.

FIFA RANKING: SUPER EAGLES DROP TO 13TH IN AFRICA

World’s football governing body, FIFA has released its rankings for the month of October, and the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped five spots on the rankings and are now 63rd in the world.

They were formally in the top 10 in Africa but dropped to now occupy the 13th position in Africa, coming after Cape Verde and Central African Republic.

Elephants of Cote’ d Ivoire remain number one African team on the list; they occupy the 16th position in the world. Other countries in the top 10 in Africa include Algeria, Mali, Ghana, Egypt, Zambia, Tunisia, Gabon, Central African Republic and Cape Verde.

PATIENCE JONATHAN NOT STABLE, LEAVES GERMAN HOSPITAL, CHECKS INTO HOTEL

The First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan has reportedly left the  Horst Schmidt Klinik in Wiesbaden, Germany, where she was treated for an undisclosed ailment for about a month, she left the hospital two days ago and checked into a hotel. 

An anonymous Doctors at the hospital said last week Wednesday “They wanted us to discharge Mrs. Patience Jonathan but we have notified the Nigerian government through its embassy here that we will not be able to discharge our patient at this time because her situation is not stable,” “We still need to monitor her very well before we can ask her to proceed on any long-distance trip.”

Shouldn't they just issue an official statement regarding the first lady's health? She's been MIA for too long.

FOUR NIGERIAN PEACEKEEPERS KILLED IN DARFUR, SUDAN

Four Nigerian peacekeepers were killed and eight wounded in an ambush in Sudan’s restive West Darfur region on Tuesday. U.N. spokesman Martin Nesirky yesterday said the ambush in El-Geneina took place on Tuesday evening.

Darfur has been torn by conflict since 2003, when rebels took up arms against the central government, accusing it of discrimination and neglect, but clashes continue and peacekeepers are a target.

How sad, I hope the perpetrators don't go unpunished.

CHRIS BROWN OFFICIALLY DUMPS KARAUECHE FOR RIHANNA'S 'FRIENDSHIP'

Chris Brown has officially broken up with his girlfriend Karrueche Tran explaining,  "I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna," Chris Brown says through his spokesman on Thursday. "I'd rather be single allowing us to be both be happy in our lives."

The announcement comes after Brown and Rihanna were spotted together at the Jay Z concert in Brooklyn last night. The two had been hanging around each other a lot lately and even flirted and kissed at the MTV VMAs. 

Karrueche posted a cryptic tweet last night reading, "Bye baby."
