Meanwhile, Muslim women in the country have been protesting against the pageant in Jakarta. Yesterday, members of an Islamic group called Hizbut Tahrithey converged outside the office of the local organizer of the beauty contest, MNC media group, warning them not to stage the pageant in the city.

They are demanding that the permit to hold Miss World pageant in their country be revoked because the pageant runs against their culture. But according to the MNC Group and Miss World Organization, it's too late to find a new location but they assured the citizens that contestants would not wear bikini at the event.

PATRICK OBAHIAGBON ON WHY HE SPEAKS 'HEAD-BREAKING' GRAMMAR

Patrick Obahiagbon is the Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, and he is known for his use of big grammar. In this  interview with Gbenro Adeoye of PUNCH, talks about why he chooses to speak that way. And you won't believe this; WAEC seized his English result 3 times because of his use of big grammar, lol. Too much for WAEC too, I guess, hehe. What is your educational background

I am by the grace of the celestial choir, a legal practitioner, a public administrator, an international historian and a diplomat. I earned a degree in Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria about 25 years ago and I do also have a double-barreled Master’s degree in Public Administration and in International History and Diplomacy.

Why do you always speak ‘big grammar’?

HE WAS MARRIED TO 2 OTHER WOMEN - ARA ON WHY HER MARRIAGE CRASHED

Aralolu ‘Ara’ Olamuyiwa, the talking drum, finally opened up on why her 3-year old marriage packed up.

In a recent interview with Encomium Weekly the drummer said that her ex-husband was married to two other women while she was with him. Another Solomon Akiyesi! Read her comment below;

‘I didn’t really know that he was legally married to two other women. One of them called me and sent me her marriage certificate. We called each other and agreed to annul it where we got married.’

But isn't it a crime (Bigamy) to be legally married to more than one woman in Nigeria? Ara and ex-husband Nurudeen Olalekan Saliu got married  on June 4, 2009 at the Oshodi/Isolo registry in Lagos and sepaarated in July 2011. The marriage has since been annulled. FANI KAYODE WITHDRAWS CLAIMS OF INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH BIANCA OJUKWU

You remember Fani Kayode's article a few  weeks ago where he mentioned the names of the Igbo ladies he has had intimate relationships with, including Bianca Ojukwu. Last week, Bianca threatened to sue him for those claims.  The former Minister has now withdrawn the comment. Read the statement he issued through his lawyer, Rotimi Akinola, yesterday;

“As our client said earlier through his press secretary some of the words he used to describe his friendship with Ambassador Ojukwu in his article titled 'A Word For Those Who Call Me A Tribalist” were indiscreet. He hereby withdraws those words

"They were good friends at the time and they had a few mutual friends who are still alive today. The bizarre, absurd and inexplicable assertion that they were not friends and that Ambassador Ojukwu has never met our client is patently false. Though he has not seen her for over 25 years he spoke to her on the phone when her husband passed on last year"

This man needs to take several seats. Why lie about a relationship that never existed? I think he has a serious crush on Bianca. How else do you explain this his imaginary affair with her?

When on April 6, 2013, Jane and Olusoji Elegbede got married in Lagos State, their joy knew no bounds.

Although Olusoji was a policeman serving in Yobe State, which is fraught with security challenges, Jane did not mind living there with him.

Their plan was to settle down, have children and grow old together. Unfortunately, this was not to be as Olusoji, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, was gunned down by a police corporal  in Gashua Bade Local Government, Yobe State, while on duty less than five months after their wedding. Olusoji’s widow, who spoke while fighting back tears, told PUNCH Metro that she was still in shock over the incident.
