SEARCH FOR BIG BROTHER AFRICA 2013 HOUSEMATES IS ON

Africa's biggest reality show, the Big Brother Africa show has entered its eighth edition this year. The show is billed to kick off on Sunday, May 26, 2013. The search for housemates to compete for the competition's grand prize, $300,000 has now begun. Forms will be available for prospective housemates to get from the participating countries.

The forms would be available from February 1 to February 14. In this year's edition, Liberia was replaced with Ethiopia, according to the producers of the show, this is to include other countries in the competition in line with their rotation policies.

The other 13 participating countries are Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The competition is opened to persons over age 21, with valid passports, fluent in English language, entertaining and passionate about the show. MAN STABS EX-GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH FOR LEAVING HIM

The Aleato family has been thrown into sorrow following the murder of their 26-year-old daughter, Onyinyechukwu, last Saturday by her ex-boyfriend in Lagos. The deceased, a sales girl at Alaba International market, Ojo, was reportedly trailed by her ex-boyfriend, Osita Amanunwa from her Iba new site abode, to Ajangbadi area of Lagos, where she had gone to visit a friend. Crime Alert gathered that the late Onyin, as she was fondly called, sat outside her host’s compound, exchanging banters, without the slightest inkling that death lurked at the corner.

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, joined officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to rescue victims of an accident that occurred on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday, 20th Jan. 14 people were seriously injured when the tyre of a commercial Volkswagen bus burst while on top speed. The accident happened just in front of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Camp and Governor Akpabio’s envoy, on his way to attend a reception for Chief Obasanjo in Abeokuta, was just behind the bus when it somersaulted. He immediately stopped to rescue the victims before the FRSC Mowe Unit arrived the scene.

The governor even followed the victims to Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu and gave them N500, 000 for their treatments. He also gave the FRSC team N200, 000 for their responsiveness.

This is definitely worth emulating by our leaders. Akpabio is the governor with largest heart in this country. I live in Akwa Ibom, so I know.

PETER OKOYE AND LOLA OMOTAYO WELCOME BABY GIRL

The baby has been named Aliona Okoye. The couple, who have a son together and now a daughter too, are yet to tie the knots, they're not even engaged. Congrats to them.

2FACE AND ANNIE POSTPONE THEIR WEDDING

There's been speculations that 2face Idibia and Annie Macaulay will be getting married on the 14th of February to mark the anniversary of 2face's proposal to Annie but that is out of the question as 2face is expected to stage a lovers’ concert on February 14, in partnership with Now Muzik and Edi Lawani’s Showbiz Network Services. He will also honour other performance engagements in and around Lagos that period.

Sources close to the couple say they are 2baba and his wife have other grand plans up their sleeves and are not ready to give up the details just yet but it will definitely not be a secret wedding like their court marriage last year as Annie wants a big white wedding.

DAVIDO GETS NEW MANAGER, ADEWALE ADELEKE

This is Adewale Adeleke, Davido's new manager and he's also his elder brother. Adewale is the chairman of HKN records. Davido recently split from his former manager Asa over money issues .

DR. TUNDE SOLEYE CONFIRMS THAT HIS MARRIAGE TO NIKE OSINOWO IS OVER

I told you guys yesterday that City people reported that after six years of marriage, former beauty queen Nike Oshinowo and her husband, Dr Tunde Soleye have called it quits (read it HERE). Well, Dr. Tunde Soleye has confirmed it in an interview with Encomium magazine. He said:

“We are no longer living together. Nike and I have sent out a joint statement on the issue. It is simple and clean. This is not a scandal. We had three options, the best of which is to tell the world the truth that we now live apart. We have been living apart for a couple of months now. We see occasionally. She calls me when she wants and I speak with her too. There's no fight. I have been to where she lives. We are still friends. We are going through a difficult time and we will come out of it.

Nike Oshinowo moved out of Dr Soleye's Lekki home mid last year and now lives in VI, while Dr Soleye has moved to Parkview Estate, Ikoyi.

MAN WHO BURIED 4-MONTH-OLD BABY ALIVE HAS BEEN ARRESTED

This baby was buried alive by unknown person(s) but was luckily discovered by the residents of a community in Lagos. It's a miracle that She survived. I'm short of words to describe this. All I can say is; Thank God for his mercy upon this child.

Update: 25 year old labourer, Macaulay Onitcha, has been arrested by the police in Delta state for allegedly burying his four months old daughter, Edna Macaulay, alive. Macaulay took the young baby to the bushes, dug a shallow grave, threw the baby in the grave and covered it with sand. Continue to read after the cut...

Why is this guy so aggressive? He's acting like a frustrated little b**ch! Just a few days ago, he insulted blogger Linda Ikeji and one of his fans tweeted her displeasure at his continual outburst whenever he is mentioned on social media. He ofcourse blasted her too.
