UCHE JUMBO OPENS UP ON EYE SURGERY

Nollywood actress Uche Jombo Rodriguez on her recent eye surgery in the US;

"As a child, I had an accident while playing with an iron hanger as a gun and it accidentally got into my right eye. I had surgery then abroad, at the age of 9. This new surgery is more of cleaning and keeping up to date with the best eye surgery, when it was found out that it wasn't properly done the first time, and presently the doctors are correcting it",  she said.

KANO STATE GOVT. GIVES 88,000 WOMEN N10,000 FREE CAPITAL

A total of 88,000 women in Kano State have so far benefited from the government’s free capital of N10,000 each has part of the state's deliberate strategy to mitigate poverty and facilitate sustainable entrepreneurship in the state.

The governor of the state, Rabi'u Kwankwaso said the state government had also trained a number of women on poultry production at Tukwui Poultry Institute in the state as part of efforts to make them more active players in the local economy. Literacy classes have also been initiated for uneducated women among them to improve their intellectual potentials. He pointed out that his administration was also doing a lot to improve the girl-child education in the state, citing the provision of free shuttle buses for female students of public secondary schools as example.

Good move but what kind of business exactly can one start with N10,000? Pls share your ideas for the beneficiaries of this capital.

CAN PRESIDENT, AYO ORITSEJAFOR, GETS JET AS BIRTHDAY GIFT

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and founder of Warri-based Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, was on Saturday given a jet marked N431CB, as a birthday gift by the church. The 10-Seater Bombadier/Challenger 601 Aircraft was presented to him during the 40th year anniversary of the church, which coincided with his birthday in Warri, Delta State. President Goodluck Jonathan who was the special guest at the event, praised the virtues of the man of God.

ICE PRINCE AND SA MODEL, BONANG MATHEBA TO HOST CHANOEL O AWARDS

The 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards coming up on 17 November at the Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto, will be hosted by award winning Nigerian rapper Ice Prince and South African top model Bonang Matheba. According to organizers, ‘Bonang and Ice Prince will bring their unique individuality when hosting Africa’s most prestigious music awards’.

Nigerian artistes that are nominated include 2face, D’banj, Psquare, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Davido, Mo’Cheddah, Brymo, and Orezi, Flavour, R&B star Tiwa Savage and rappers Naeto C and Ice Prince.

According to a report by Flex Newspaper, Ghanian singer, Becca’s father has disowned her as a result of her intention to advance her many years of relationship with manager, Kiki Banson.

Becca’s father, Mr. Acheampong, is very upset with her daughter’s decision to marry her own manager-Kiki Banson who has had a failed marriage which many people blame on his relationship with Becca.

Becca’s father is reported to have said that; “Becca is no more my child and she can do whatever she pleases with her life. She is of no importance to me anymore. She is grown so if she thinks Kiki is the one she really wants to marry, she can go ahead and marry him. I have already disowned her. I don’t care if the mother supports her or not. Looking at my health condition now, I wouldn’t want to do anything that will affect me and the rest of the family. Everything I gave her has been taken back. She is no more my child and will never be my child, not even when I’m dead.”

After nearly two years together, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have gone their separate ways. Selena actually broke up with Justin about a week ago. It is reported that Selena definitely had some major trust issues with Justin. Justin was seen chatting up models backstage at the Victoria's Secret show on Wednesday and ended up taking 19-year-old Hungarian fashion model Barbara Palvin to see The Lion King on Broadway. Some of their friends say the break up was due to crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship.

TWITTER MISTAKINGLY RESETS PASSWORD OF A LARGE NUMBER OF USERS

Twitter has mistakenly reset the passwords of a large number of its more than 140 million active users while conducting routine security screening to identify accounts that may have been compromised. Twitter said in its blog on Thursday. “In this case, we unintentionally reset passwords of a larger number of accounts, beyond those that we believed to have been compromised.” They usually reset the password when they believe an account may have been compromised and send an email letting the account owner know this has happened.

A spokeswoman for the social-networking site, Carolyn Penner, declined to say how many Twitter accounts were affected by the error but there had not been a security breach.
