 Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon made a grammatical error on twitter when he wrote 'matched' instead of 'matches' and some of his followers lashed out at him for it. The thing is, Mr Obahiagbon is known for his use of very big and confusing words so it was quite unexpected for a man who is used to 'scattering' our heads with big grammar to make this kind of grammatical error. INCREDIBLE NIGERIAN SKETCH ARTISTE, KEVIN OKAFOR, BECOMES AN INTERNATIONAL SENSATION

Kelvin Okafor is a 27-year-old sketch artiste who uses only pencils and a piece of paper to create amazing portraits and he is currently making waves across the world.

Okafor, who is a graduate of Fine Art, Middlesex University,  has been producing pictures with pencils since he was a teenager who was too poor to leave his house to socialise. Instead of drinking and clubbing, Ofakor stayed at home in Tottenham, North London, seeking solace in drawing. Okafor says each work takes him up to 100hours to complete.

An exhibition of his work opened at London’s Science Museum and already some of his portraits are changing hands for £10,000 apiece. This week, a portrait he drew of King Hussein of Jordan is to be presented to the late monarch’s widow, Queen Noor. See more of his amazing works after the cut...

MOTHER OF BAYELSA'S ASSEMBLY LEADER KIDNAED BY UN KNOWN GUNMEN

Mrs. Esther Akpe, the 59-year-old mother of the leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mr. Peter Akpe, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.  Mrs. Akpe, was kidnapped on Monday night between 9 and 10pm by five armed gunmen from her residence at Ebedebiri in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.

The gunmen came through the river around her residence and disappeared through same route. The woman was sitting outside her home, savouring fresh air, when the kidnappers stormed her home, shooting sporadically into the air to scare residents away. On hearing the sound of gunshots, she started to make her way into the house when the gunmen seized her and took her away into their speedboat and headed towards Bomadi in Delta State.

No contact had been established with the kidnappers.

MEND DENIES BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THREAT AGAINST NIGERIA

The spokesman for Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Jomo Gbomo,  released a statement yesterday asking Nigerians to disregard the recent threat by a  self-acclaimed leader of the group, Comrade Azizi, to unleash  mayhem in Nigeria following the jailing of Henry Okah by a South African court for terrorism. "The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) wishes to advise Nigerians and the media to disregard the pathetic attempt at propaganda by a so-called Comrade Azizi and his statements which are not authentic and statements emanating from MEND.

"As claimed by this Comrade Azizi, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) would like to clarify the following..

"Mr Henry Okah is NOT and has never been viewed as the leader or founder of MEND but rather known as a sympathizer and supporter of our cause.

FACES OF ACTRESS NKIRU SYLVANUS' KIDNAPPERS

These are the alleged kidnappers of Nollywood actress and aide to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Nkiru Sylvanus and Keneth Okolie. They were paraded by the State Security Service, SSS, in Abuja yesterday. The gang was led by a police officer who was dismissed from the police unit in 2007. All six of them; Ndidi Cletus, also known as Matthew Ofurum; Stanley Asouna; Aminu Musa; Muhammed Abubakar; Obinna Okolisa and Samson Onwuka, have confessed to the crime.

The actress and former Mr Nigeria were kidnapped in Owerri, Imo State, on December 15, 2012. The kidnappers were reportedly paid N8million before they were released.

Rick Ross survived a shocking drive-by-shooting yesterday morning. BOKO HARAM DELCARES CEASE FIRE IN MAIDUGURI

Boko Haram leader-Abubakar Shekau is believed to be hiding outside Nigeria

Boko Haram has declared ceasefire in Maiduguri after allegedly holding talks with “officials of Borno State Government and leaders of thought from the state”. The cease fire was announced yesterday, Monday 28 January around 3p.m by Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who introduced himself as the second in command to Mr. Shekau, Boko Haram leader;

“I am announcing this ceasefire with the approval and consent of the leader Sheikh Abubakar Shekau. We, therefore, call on all our members to stop all acts of violence immediately and await further directives,” Aziz said. He said the ceasefire is because of the hardships women and children are subjected to and also demanded that detained members of the sect be released and the destroyed mosque of its late leader, Mohammed Yusuf, rebuilt as a condition for the ceasefire.

The Special Adviser to the state governor on Media, Isa Gusau, in a telephone interview with Channels Television, said he could not confirm the meeting between the Borno State government and the Boko Haram sect.

Five men were on Monday paraded by the Lagos State Police Command for printing local and foreign currencies. Two of the suspects, Femi Jacob and Ramon Adeoye, were arrested at Ogunlana Street, Alagbado with eight printing machines and a large quantity of printed fake notes in Naira, Dollars, Pounds, Euros and Cedis totalling N8m.

A cleric, Prophet Elikanah Ajibade, who was charged to court on Tuesday and was remanded in prison, was accused to have physically abused his son because he attended a church service against his instruction. According to the details obtained by Crime Reports, the boy who is now in the care of  JWC staff, reportedly left home for the new year eve service on Monday, December 31, 2012, in a church which was not his father’s, though against the will of his father.

The father, a Cherubim and Seraphim prophet at Okinni, a town  in Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State, had earlier told his son who is his late wife’s third son not to go to any other church for the service to usher in a new year.

Comparison with predecessor
You could just have performed if you have the vision and sincerity.  If you have the passion and commitment, you could also have impacted on the lives of your people if you do not have ulterior motive and this has been the problem.  So I am building the state from the scratch as if Akwa Ibom was born today.  It wasn’t born today.

Why he is angry
I started with a lot of anger.  I served as commissioner for five years and I know that where I met the state is not where it ought to have been. I used my money to repair this Calabar road when I was commissioner when Obansajo was to pay a visit to the state.  I went and brought a heap of sand to try to fill potholes along the road.  So I went to the incumbent governor at that time and I said Sir, let’s do something about the road.  He said, get out, is it my father’s road?  Let him (Obasanjo) come and see how he has been neglecting Akwa Ibom.
