UCHE JUMBO OPENS UP ON EYE SURGERY

Nollywood actress Uche Jombo Rodriguez on her recent eye surgery in the US;

"As a child, I had an accident while playing with an iron hanger as a gun and it accidentally got into my right eye. I had surgery then abroad, at the age of 9. This new surgery is more of cleaning and keeping up to date with the best eye surgery, when it was found out that it wasn't properly done the first time, and presently the doctors are correcting it",  she said.

KANO STATE GOVT. GIVES 88,000 WOMEN N10,000 FREE CAPITAL

A total of 88,000 women in Kano State have so far benefited from the government’s free capital of N10,000 each has part of the state's deliberate strategy to mitigate poverty and facilitate sustainable entrepreneurship in the state.

The governor of the state, Rabi'u Kwankwaso said the state government had also trained a number of women on poultry production at Tukwui Poultry Institute in the state as part of efforts to make them more active players in the local economy. Literacy classes have also been initiated for uneducated women among them to improve their intellectual potentials. He pointed out that his administration was also doing a lot to improve the girl-child education in the state, citing the provision of free shuttle buses for female students of public secondary schools as example.

CAN PRESIDENT, AYO ORITSEJAFOR, GETS JET AS BIRTHDAY GIFT

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and founder of Warri-based Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, was on Saturday given a jet marked N431CB, as a birthday gift by the church. The 10-Seater Bombadier/Challenger 601 Aircraft was presented to him during the 40th year anniversary of the church, which coincided with his birthday in Warri, Delta State. President Goodluck Jonathan who was the special guest at the event, praised the virtues of the man of God.
