PRESIDENT JONATHAN MAY STOP THE INRODUCTION OF THE NEW N5,000 NOTE
In a meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan, the President of the Senate, David Mark,
and Tambuwal on Tuesday night at the Aso Rock villa, the President discussed the opposition of the
National Assembly to the planned introduction of the N5000 note by the
Central Bank of Nigeria. The two leaders of the
National Assembly explained to Jonathan why the proposed N5000 note was not necessary adding that they had a constitutional
responsibility to protect the wishes of Nigerians, whose suffering would
be worsened by the N5000 denomination.
There are indications that Jonathan will direct the Governor of the CBN, Mr.
Lamido Sanusi, to stop the proposed policy, having heard the position of
the National Assembly.
REPS WANT N7M INCREASE IN ALLOWANCES
Barely 24 hours after resuming from a two-month recess, members of the House of Representatives are asking for a N7m increase in their quarterly
allowances. Each member of the House currently enjoys N27m per quarter in allowances but the lawmakers want the sum jerked up to N35m.
Some of the lawmakers, in seeking an
increased allowance, at the closed door session on Wednesday raised
questions of financial impropriety against the leadership of the House.
They reportedly questioned how the “N5m” budgeted for each member’s medical expenses and insurance was utilized by the House.
N27m in allowances alone? Not yearly o, quarterly.
HOW DO YOU COPE WITH A WIFE WHO EARNS MORE THAN YOU?
Does your wife earn more than you? Do you feel like you need to get
another job? Does she get home later than you do? Did she buy the cars
at home and pay for the children’s school fees? Do you sometimes wish
you could just have her resign her work and just stay at home taking
care of the kids? A lot of men find themselves in your shoes and share similar reservations. While it’s typical to
think this way, how should you then deal with it?
Or do you think you should make up for it by being at home on time, going through home
work with his kids, making sure dinner is ready for your wife and
patiently waiting for her every night till she is back, believing that if you can’t meet with the financial needs, then you should compensate in
other areas of family life?
Someone once told me of a female friend who is richer than her husband. When her husband travels, she buys expensive gifts for the kids and around the house, and hides them when he gets back because he forbids her from buying what he can't afford to buy. She is of the opinion that she can't live like a poor woman when she can afford the finer things in life. It is like a secret between her and the kids.
This should be interesting. Over to the guys.

MAPOLY EXPELS 14 STUDENTS OVER VIOLENT DEMONSTRATION
14 students have been expelled from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic following the violence that occurred on Tuesday during the Students' Union Government election. Protesting students allegedly destroyed school property while protesting
against alleged interference in the SUG election by the MAPOLY
authorities.
A statement by the school's Public Relations Officer, Sulaimon Adebiyi read in part, “The
management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has proscribed the
Students’ Union of the polytechnic.
“This development became imperative
following the disruption of the students’ union election on September
18, 2012 on the campus of the polytechnic, which led to the cancellation
of the election by the Students’ Union Electoral Commission, which was
endorsed by the management.
The school authorities have advised the expelled students to steer clear off the polytechnic.
